Ordered, " That Standing Order No. 219 bo suspended, and that a Native Affairs Committee be appointed, consisting of fourteen members, to consider all potitions, reports, returns, and other documents relating to affairs especially affecting the Native race that may be brought before the Houbc this session, and from time to time to report thereon to the House ; with power to call for persons and papers ; three to be a quorum : the Committee to consist of the Hon. Sir J. Carroll, Mr. Henare, Mr. Hudson, Mr. Jennings, Mr. Mac Donald, Mr. Mander, Hon. Mr. Ngata, Mr. Parata, Hon. Dr. Pomare, Mr. Seddon. Mr. W. I have the honour to report that at a meeting of the Native Affairs Committee held yesterday afternoon the following resolution was unanimously carried : — ' Thai the Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the ability, tact, and courtesy displayed by Ihe Chairman, Mr. J. A. Young, at the meetings of the Committee; that this resolution be recorded in tho minutes and reported to the House." Bth October, 1915.

Te Rangihiroa, who were until lately members of the Native Affairs Committee, fraternal greetings from the Committee, with an expression of extreme satisfaction at the spirit of patriotism which has compelled them to answer their country's call; that this resolution be recorded in the minutes and reported to the House." Pinal Report. I have the honour to report thai the Native Affairs Committee held its final meeting yesterday afternoon. During the session the Committee met on 38 occasions, with an average attendance of 10. Including 99 brought forward from last session, the Committee had before it 239 petitions. Of these, 120 were considered and reported upon, and the remaining 119 are held over until next session. Upon 30 the Committee reported favourably, upon 77 it had no recommendation to make, with regard to 9 it recommended that they be referred to a special Committee, and 4 were withdrawn. The following Bills were referred to the Committee, were duly considered, and reported upon: Cook Islands; Greymouth Native Reserve; Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment; AVest Coast Settlement Reserves Amendment. Nine parliamentary papers were referred to the Committee, and were duly considered and reported upon. The total number of reports presented to the House was 115. Bth October, 1915.
