A MUCH REGRETTED RETIREMENT.

Delegates in Convention assembled, and White Ribboners throughout the Dominion all feel deep regret at the retirement of our much-loved and highly valued Treasurer, Mrs Hendely. All love her, all appreciate the g.*eat ability with which she discharged her duties; all have admired her fine courage in continuing the work handicapped by ill-health. A pocket-book containing notes was presented to her as a token of love and appreciation by Convention. As she was unable to be present, it was presented to her by our Dominion President at an Officers’ meeting. Mrs Taylor voiced the love and appreciation of the inner circle who have been so closely associated with Mrs Bendely. Hearts w r ere too full for words, but our prayer is that rest from official duties may hasten her recovery to perfect health, end that we may, in the future, have the joy of working with her In the cause of God and Home and Humanity. "THANKS FROM MRS BENDERY. (To the Editor.) Ihear Madam, — 1 Will you allow me space to express to 'the members of Convention, and through them to the Unions they repre- % sent, my sincerest thanks for the very kind message and gift sent to me from .Convention? I take with me, on retiring from the position of N.Z. Treasurer, many pleasant recollections of my associations with officers and members of the Union in many parts of Nev/ Zealand, not the least among which are the kindly expressions of Convention to’wards myself and the work I have been able to do for the Union. May God Mess you all. —Yours sincerely, NELTJE BENDET.Y
