FrRoM 1YA, 2YA, and 3YA, there will be a home science talk at 3.5 p.m. This lecturette has been prepared by the Home Science Extension Department of Otago University.
Auckland Notes Durzwe the W.B.A. session, Mr. H. Hollinrake, Mus. Bac, will continue his lectures, this time dealing with "The Modern Orchestra and Its Instrumenis-W oodwind." Eva Stern, pianiste, late of National Broadeasting Corporation of U.S.A. and a very talented artiste, is appearing on the evening’s programme, presenting compositions by Bach, Brahms, Mendelssohn, and Glinka, An instrumental programme will also be provided by the Whisker Quartet, while Vincent Aspey, an Australian artist, will play two violin solos. Two sketches will be enacted by Kathleen Coleman, who is making her first ap-, pearance before the microphone, Wellington Features ‘} W.E.A. session will be conducted ' by Mr. W. G. von Zedlitz, speaking on "The Pleasures of Reading-the odern Spirit." The first half of the evening pro"gramme will be devoted to a revue entitled "Wagga-Woof," a western drama of the East arranged by Doug. Stark for Jim and Dougal, assisted by Frank Crowther and the Majesfie Lounge Quintet, The second half of-the evening’s programme will be bright and varied, Christchurch Features At 7.35 p.m, the seventh instalment of the Music Lovers’ Competition will be presented. A very bright recorded programme will be heard in the evening. At 9 o’clock, Dr. B. ©. Beeby will give a talk on "Mental Strain in an Expanding World" . ‘
