Notes and News from the North
QN September 9 a very interesting series of talks will commence from 1YA, when Mr. Hollingrake, of thé Auckland Training Oollege, will talk on "The Violin and the Viola.’ In the rest of the series other musical instruments will be discussed; and as the speaker has such a wide knowledge of his subject his talks should arouse great interest among. musi¢lovers. No single speaker from station 1YA has aroused greater interest among listeners than "Lee-Kore-Brace," whose talks on thé sea and ships seem to have the real tang of the sea, mixed with a dry humour, and 4 little: sage philosophy. It is of interest to- note that his talk on the "Outty Sark" was heard over the air-by a member of the erew of this famous old ship who is now spending his last days at Arkles Bay. ‘"Lee-Fore-Brace" will talk on "The Limbo of the Lost Ships" on September il. .
