‘ Auckland Notes ANOTHER very fine programme will be broadcast this evening from the Model Studio at the Auckland Radio Exhibition, Once again the Or'chestral Octet will appear, and vocal items will be given by the New Clarion Quartet (consisting of Misses Lillian Woods, Beryl .Smith, Messrs, Lambert Harvey, and Duncan Black), Piano solos will be given by .Mr. Erie Bell, humorous numbers by. Mr. -Zante Wood, and novelty items by Mr. Elton Black and Miss Alice Bennetto, Wellington Features At 7.40 Mr. Will Lawson, the ‘well-known. Ausfralian ‘author, will give a lecturette entitled "Im--pressions of the Far East." , In the evening the 2YA Orchestrina, under Signor A. P..Truda, will play the overture "The Spartan," a. selection, "A Day in Paris," a fantasia, "Ideal Aida," and the march "Tzigane." Mr. H. H. Jones, Welsh basso, will again delight listeners with four songs, "A Son of the Desert Am I," ."O Mother Mine," "Bells of the Sea," and "My Little Welsh Home." Miss Mary Bald (contralto), a newcomer to 2YA, will be heard in three songs with orchestral accompaniment, "I Pitch My Lonely Caravan," "A Song Remembered," and "Slave Song." ‘' The Harmony Four, a clever instrumental combination, consisting of ‘Hawaiian Spanish guitars, one-string fiddle and ukelele, will be heard in a budget of popular songs and melodies, Also included on this programme is Miss Ellis Gilders, pianist, who comes to 2YA with a Southern . ‘reputation. She will be heard in two solos, "Caprice" and "Romance (both by ' Sibelius). . Christchurch Notes | HE weekly dialogue on "Radio Ser vice" will take place as usual,'the speakers being Mr. D. Cossgrove and W. Melbourne. A new combination of instrumentalists, the Harold Comans Orchestra, will be heard this evening, contributing saxophone solos, one-steps, waltzes, foxtrots, trombone solos and marches. Miss Maisie Ottey, novelty pianiste, will provide several items. The vocal portion of the musical programme will be entrusted to the Melodious Quartet, who will feature excerpts from musi-: cal comedies. The. evening’s: programme will’ conclude with a half. hour’s gramophone lecture-recital by ‘Mr. Karl Atkinson on "Richard Wag-ner-Poet-Composer," (Concluded on page 33.)
