Christchurch Features "HE fortnightly "Radio Service" talk. " will be given by Messrs. D. Cossgrove and W. Melbourne, Mrs. H. Turnbull: (mezzo-soprano) will make her radio debut this evening. Associated with her on the vocal side will. be the ever-popular Miss Nellie Lowe and Mr. A. G. Thompson, who will sing solos and duets, Miss Maisie Ottey, a very clever pianiste, Will contribute some novelty num&rs. Humour will be provided by. Mr. George Titchener, Mr. M. H. Withers, clarinetist, will play Mendelssohn’s "Spring Song" and "Les Alsachiennes." Further instrumental items will be provided by the Christchurch -Broadcasting Trio. a Dunedin Notes WO artists will make their debut "at the 4YA microphone this evening. They will be Miss W. Martyn (eloeutionist), who will. present dialect numbers, and Mr. W. H. Satterthwaite (tenor). Mr. Satterthwaite is one of the leading members of: the choir’ of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association. He is also a member of the choir’s ‘standard male quartet, which combination appears regularly at the choir’s concerts which. are \held throughout the year in the Dunedin Town Hall. ’ The popular Kenz Orpheans also appéar on this evening’s programme, and have added to their repertoire the very latest hits. The last item of the programme is a new and exceptionally fine popular melody, "Go Home and Tell Your Mother." Wellington Features "THE next of the Wednesday night overseas recorded programmes will
be presented this evening. At 9 o’clock, Dr, Guy H. Scholefield, O.B.E., will give a talk on "Matters of International Interest." The evening’s entertainment will also include a session of international dance music from elec‘trical recordings. From Christchurch HIS evening’s miscellaneous programme will be contributed by a variety of entertainers. ‘Dunedin Notes. . HB home science talk to be given py the Home Science Hxtension Department of Otago University will be on "Household Conveniences." At 7.15 p.m. Mr. D. Hercus will speak on "Todine Deficiency." The glory of the Russian composers will be brought back to listeners this evening by the items to be played by the Studio Trio. Needless to say, Tschaikowsky is represented on this programme and amongst the others are such brilliant musicians as Sibelius, Arensky and Barmotin. The’ Studio Trio will present more of the lighter works of these composers.
