Auckland Notes "THE subject for the home science talk, prepared by the Home Science Extension Department of Otago University for presentation from 1YA, 2YA and 8YA, will be on "Recipes." Another of the series of talks under the auspices of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Association will be broadeast from 1YA at 7.40. It will be entitled "Biscuits," and is to be given by Mr. J. P. O’Connor. Appearing on this evening’s programme is a new radio artist, Mr. William Coleman (tenor), who will sing three songs which were popular many years ago, "Come into the Garden, Maud," "Sally in our Alley," and "Bianca." Miss Patti Schnackenberg

(contralto), who was last heard at the recital given by. the Auckland Piano © Students’ Association, will also appear, and novelty pianoforte numbers will be . given by Mr. D. Armishaw. The instrumental portion of the pro--gramme will be provided by the Orchestral Octet, amongst the numbers being the ballet suite "La Source," and the suite "Four Fancies." The everpopular Asquiths will present another of their clever drawing-room entertainments and the programme will conelude with a gramophone _lecture-re-cital of the latest recordings to be given. by A Commentator. Wellington Features HE speaker for the home. science talk at 3.15 will be Miss Imelda Meadows. Tne Wellington Commercial Travellers’ and Warehousemen’s Association Orchestra will provide the whole evening’ s programme, The orchestra is under the conductorship of Mr. J. F, Woodward, who has. selected for preseniafion "A Night with Ketelbey." j This will include numerous works by this popular composer, opening with the overture "Musical Jig Saw" and the selection "Gallantry." Miss K.. McIvor (soprano) will be heard in "Down in the Forest" (by Ronald) and "An Island Sheiling Song" (by.- KennedyFraser). Mr. A. I. Murray (baritone) will sing "Farewell to Summer" (by Johnson) and "To-morrow" (by Keel). . Notes Featured on to-night’s programme will be Professor R, C. Zimmermann, whose violin solos will be played to orchestral accompaniment, Four items will be played: Beethoven’s "Romance in 0," Hubay’s popular "Hejri Kati," "Legende" by Wieniawski and Kreisler’s "Liebesfreud." The vocal portion of the programme -will be provided by the Melodious Quartet, whose concerted numbers will be "On Himalay," by Bantock, and the plantation chorus "Good-night." A number of duets and solos will also be -sung, several of them having orchestral accompaniment.
