INDIAN SONG CIRCLE Broadeast From 1YA. ‘AT 7.40 Mr. HE. Casey, Divisional Superintendent of North Island Railways, will give a short talk on ."Recent Railway Progress." On the eyening’s concert programme will be the popular soprano, Miss Reta MacCullay, who will sing Seottish , songs, and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bailey \. will again be associated in two short ~ sketches. The instrumental portion of the programme will be provided by Barry Ingall’s Hawaiians, and the Orchestral Octet. The programme, as usual, will conclude with dance music. From 2YA. MESSRS. HAMILTON NIMMO AND SONS, LTD., will give another of their interesting Player piano and gramophone recitals on Thursday afternoon. The Wellington Regiment (ist Battalion) Band will give another — of their entertaining studio concerts during the evening session. The band’s items will include a selection from "The Marriage of Figaro," the fantasias, "Queen of the Ballet" and "A Summer Day," the popular foxtrot, "Broadway Melody," and the waltz, "Sleepy Valley." The assisting artists will be Miss Lolla and Mr. 8S. Vandersloot, Miss Gwenyth Evans, Mr. Richard Maunder,

and Miss Zena Jupp. The Silver Fern Dance Band will be heard in several popular numbers. From 3YA. [THE beautiful Indian song cycle, "The Golden Threshold," a poem by Saropini Naidu to music composed by. Liza Lehmann, will form the chief portion of the evening’s ‘concert. The vocalists. will be the Grand Opera Quartet-Madame Gower Burns, Miss Mavis Spiller, Mr. Ernest Rogers and Mr. J. Filer-with full accompaniment by the Christchurch Broadcasting Trio -Miss Irene Morris (violin), Mr. Harold Beck (’cello), and Miss Dorothy Davies (piano)-assisted by Mr.

W. Hay (flautist). The rendition of this song cycle will provide: a great musical treat for listeners. The supplementary programme, contributed by the same vocalists, will include a duet, "O Wert Thou in the Cauld Blast," and solos, "Achal by the Sea," "Come, For It’s June;’ and "The Bosom of the Deep." Flute solos will be contributed by Mr. W. Hay and harp solos by Mr. H. Glaysher. There will be humorous elocutionary items by Mr. Alan W. Brown.
