NEW ARTISTS APPEAR Broadeast From 1YA. At 7.40 p.m. Madame Mabel Milne will continue her talks on "Health and Diet." A new combination is appearing on the evening’s programme, the "Mati Trio," consisting of banjo, mandoline and guitar, and some very interesting items will be given by them. The very popular Clarsax Duo will also be heard again, and Miss Hilda Stansfield (contralto) and Mr. Walter Brough . (baritone) will be associated in duets and solos. Miss Mollie Atkinson (mezzo-soprano) will be heard in the following solos, "Oh, Could I But Bxpress in Song," "With Thee is Peace," and "A Memory," while Mr. Dan Flood will be heard in humour. A topical talk will be given by Mr. A. B. Chappell, M.A., and Mr. Oyril Towsey will be heard in the pianoforte
Solo, "Prelude and Fugue in C Minor," by Bach. a From 3YA. | Poa "THE instrumental musie, which will be provided by the Studio. Octet, will be the évening’s feature. Items to be played will be the "March" and "Habanera" from "Carmen," dances by Delibes, Ern’s "Serenade," the "Barcarolle"’ (from "Tales of Hoffman"), "Gavotte" (from "Mignon") and "Second Sullivan Selection." Beethoven’s "Minuet in G" will be played by a string quartet consisting of Miss Irene Morris (1st violin), Mrs. A. H. Bills (2nd violin), Miss Marjorie Chapman (’cello), and Mr, H. Blaysher (harp). Pianoforte solos will be played by Miss Bessie Pollard. The vocal side of the musical programme will be provided by Miss Thelma Ayres, Mrs. R. F. Jamieson, Mr. Harry Francis and Mr. R. 8S. H. Buchanan. Mr. Buchanan is a baritone soloist in the Christchurch Male Voice Choir, and this will be his first radio performance, . From 4YA. Two new artists will be heard. Mr. J. Simpson (tenor), "and ‘Miss Isobel Crowe (mezzo-soprano). Mr. Simpson, who is the choirmaster of the Trinity Methodist Church, is very well known in the city as the possessor of a very fine voice. Miss I. Crowe has a. broadcasting voice, which is sweet and of good quality. The Select ‘ Four will appear on this programme, and will render, in addition to popular novelty items, several good Scottish selections. Messrs. J. McCaw and T. Law, saxophonists, will play some good novelty items on their instruments, and with the addition of Mr. Buster Brown and Mr. Lester Moller, Scotch comedian and elocutionist respectively, listeners should be assured of an enjoyable programme.
