St. Patrick's College, Wellington-
The results of the past year's work at St. Patrick's Ciollege, as published in another part -of this issue, reflect great credit on the institution, and in an especial manaier on"" its able Rector and talented profes*sorial staff. The public examinations are a test of efficiency. For the past year St. Patrick's College 'had the following successes to its credit : — Junior - Scholarships, 3 ; Matriculation and Solicitor's General Knowledge, 10 ; Matriculation, 1 ; Victoria .College, Queen's Senior Scholarship, £20 a year and free, tuition • for three years, 1 ; Junior "Civil Service '(passed with credit), 25 ; (passed), 8 ; Senior Civil Service, 2. In tjhe Junior Civil Service there were /1&43.^ candidates "examined, and the candidates from St. Patrick' s"-"©ollege obtained first and seventh place in arithmetic, first and seventh in geography, third in" Maori, ninth in -freehand drawing, -tenth in history, eleventh "in English, and twelfth *in mathematics. In. the Junior Scholarship examination they took first^ place in history and geograpjhy.
