MR. PATRICK O'SULLIVAN, HAWERA.
Tho many friends of Mr. Patrick O'Sulliviaa, late ofl H'awera,, lesartned with sincere regret of his dieath, which took place at the residence of his brother, Mr. Mr, Mictedib O'Sullivjan, Ma|njii%ihi, on> tAuguist 22* Thfl deceased, wjtoo was unmarried, oame out to Australia in thd early sixties, and after a few years' residence in Victoria was attracted to New Zealand by the West Coast d'iig)?ing|s. He worked in Charleston for many years, where by his honesty and sterling worth, he made a lajrigte number of friends. Later On, he was engaged in. business in Westtport, from whence he went to IDawora. Ablaut a year ago nis health began , to fail, and notwitbstalnlditn'gi medical skill grew worse. A few weeks p,rior to Jiis death ho went to reside with his brother, where he passed away at the age of 69 years. The interment took place at the Patea Cemetery, and was very largely attended. The Reiv. Father McCJraln, who attended the deceased at his last moments, officiated at the graveside. We extend to his brother and 1 /sorrowing friends our sincere sympathy.— R.I. P.
