Addincjton Stock Market.
The entries at Addington were — 3000 fat sheep. 15U0 fat lambs, 7500 store sheep, cattle, nnd pigs.
Fat Cattle — The 2GG yarded were mostly good sorts, including some prime steers. Bidding, especially for the better elates, was brisker, owing no doubt to the Bel hist Company free/.iug a large number of this port. Prime steers brought L7to L 8 10^> ; lighter sorts, L 5 17s Gd to LG 10s ; heifers (all light weights-), L 4 to L 6 5s ; cows. L 3 17s Gd to LG 2s Gd.
Stoke Cattle were m great request, and many were taken privately before sale. Those by auction realised : — Three year Bteers, LI Is to L 5 10s ; three year heifers, L4to L 4 10s ; 18 months' cattle, L22sGd to L 2 17s Gd. Dairy cows were a poor lot, selling at L 3 10s to LG 10s.
Fat Sheep — A mixed entry, mostly butchers' ewes and no good lines of freezers. All classes were in keen demand. Wethers. 14s 2d to 15s Gd ; do ewes, 12s to 15s Gd.
Fat Lambs — There were no extra prime, mostly medium quality. There was a good demand for all sorts. Freezers, 11b Gd to 13s ; others down to 10s (id.
Stoke Sheep — Those entered were mostly medium-sized lines of wethers, lambs, and ewes. All classes were in great request. Wethers, 11s 7d to 13s 7d ; ewes, 10a to 14s ; lambs, 8s lid to 11s 4d.
Pigs — There was a short supply, and a rise in prices, especially for stores. Baconers, 30s to 375, or 3]d per lb ; porker*, 20s to 335, or 3Jd to 4d per lb ; stores, 10s to 15s ; weaners, 10s to lls Od.
