Stiff Cotton Material

Dear Aunt Daisy, I would very much appreciate a reply to this problem through The Listener, as I am not able to listen in the morning. What is the best way to remove stiffness, presumably dressing, from a black and white cotton dress material? I have washed it several times but it is still too crisp for comfortable wear, "Phyllida," Wellington. Perhaps you could try soaking it in water with a handful of epsom salts. Afterwards put twice through wringer, then rinse well. This is also done to get the dressing out of unbleached calico.
