Dear Aunt Daisy, Would you please tell me through The Listener a method of cleaning the verdigris off a salt and pepper stand which is of E.P.N.S.?

f think you could soak it in a bowl of boiling water containing a tablespoon of cream of tartar. Then clean with the best plate powder.
