Shifting Eggs
Dear Aunt Daisy, As usual, in the spring, I preserved two kerosene tins full of ‘eggs in liquid, and now we are unexpectedly moving to another farm. How can I move the eggs? There will not be much handling, but the roads ate very bumpy and I don’t
think the eggs will have a chance. I cannot always hear your session, so perhaps you could reply in The Listener.

Many people have successfully moved with their preserved eggs. It is just a question of careful packing. Take them out of the liquid, let them dry, then wrap each separately in about 3 thicknesses of newspaper, Pack these carefully in lots’ more paper, or sawdust. When you arrive, make up fresh preserving liquid, and put the eggs in as before. Don’t put in any cracked ones.
