Removing Grass Stains
Dear Aunt Daisy, I heard you giving help to a erabsted mother about grass stains on white flannels, and thought these hints may help someone. Soak in methylated spirits or rub stains with a damp cloth that has been dabbed in dry sugar. Wash in usual way. To remove mildew, wet the material, rub with soap, and sprinkle with powdered chalk. Place on grass to bleach. Repeat wWhén article is dry if mildew is bad‘ Boil and rinse well. To wash fine old lace, place in screw top jar of sudsy water, shake gently till clean, rinse well, adding a little gum arabic to last water, to slightly stiffen, When néarly dry, usé only warm iron. "Blue Eyes." Other methods used by couritry péopleée for grass stains aré soaking in kerosene and rubbing goldén syrup well in. In both casés wash well afterwards in warm suds.
