No. 87.—Petition of Te One Topi Patuki and 26 Others. Petitioners pray that the Southland Meat and Export Company may be restrained from gaining possession of certain land set apart for the Natives at the Bluff. I have the honour to report that the Committee is of opinion this petition should be referred to the Government, with the recommendation that free access to the site and building in question be secured for the Natives, as has hitherto been the case. 28th July, 1893. ■ [Teanslation.] No. 87. —Pukapuka inoi a Te One Topi Patuki me etahi atu c 26. Petitioners pray that Section 2, Aparima, may be reserved for the purpose of erecting a " House of Assembly " thereon, for the use of the Maoris and half-castes. I have the honour to report that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government for inquiry. 28th July, 1893. No. 179. —Petition of Michael Mullooley. Petitioner alleges that through the action of the Government he is unable to complete his title to land known as Mangarara No. 2, Uawa Block, and in consequence is likely to suffer heavy losses. He prays for relief. I have the honour to report that the Committee is of opinion this petition should be referred to the Government, with the recommendation that inquiries be instituted with a view to finally settling the matter referred to therein. No. 135.'—Petition of Eihi Huanga. Petitioner alleges that owing to the restrictions on his land he is unable to raise sufficient funds t~o procure medical treatment for an incurable disease from which he is suffering. He prays for removal of the said restrictions. I have the honour to report that the Committee is of opinion that no recommendation can be made with regard to this petition. Ist August, 1893.
