I have the honour to report that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government, with the recommendation that the prayer of petitioners be granted. 25th July, 1893. No. 93.—Petition of Wi Mahubi Mataitaua. Petitioneb prays for a further rehearing in the matter of Aorangi No. 3a Block. I have the honour to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make, it having been ascertained that the petitioners were awarded land in the Aorangi No. 3a Block, other than that now in dispute, and that they are now residing on the disputed land, notwithstanding the Native Land Court has twice decided the same does not belong to them. 28th July, 1893. No. 104.—Petition of Major Kemp and 55 Others. Petitionees pray that a Bill, to be called " The Federated Maori Assembly Bill," may be introduced for the purpose of give the Maori people power to deal with their own affairs. I have the honour to report that, as the prayer of this petition involves a radical change in the government of the colony, the Committee declines to make any recommendation in connection therewith. 28th July, 1893.
