No. 384, 1892.—Petition of Weeetini Tdkoeehu and 34 Others. Petitioners protest against the passing of the Eohe Potae Bill, 1892. I have the honour to report that, as the Bill mentioned was dealt with last session, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 14th July, 1893. No. 276, 1891, Sess. ll.—Petition of Hera Puna and 7 Others. Petitioners allege that the purchase of Te Kauri Block, Whitianga District, Mercury Bay, was not completed. They claim that a balance amounting to £333 is still due, and pray that that sum may be handed over to them. I have the honour to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make in connection with this petition. 19th July, 1893. Petitioners state that they have been advised that the title to their lands at Eamahika is bad, notwithstanding that they were put to reside thereon by Government. They pray for relief. I have the honour to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 19th July, 1893. No. 125. —Petition of Matiaha Kapu and 150 Others. Petitioners pray that their land may be exempted from the provisions of the West Coast Settlements Eeserves Act, and that they may be allowed to deal with it in the same manner as the Europeans are doing. I have the honour to report that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. 21st July, 1893.
