No. 244, 1892.—Petition of Piripi te Maaei and 10 Others. Petitioners pray that their rights in connection with the Wairarapa Lakes may be protected, and that they may receive compensation for land wrongfully occupied by the Crown. I have the honour to report that, as the matter is now before the Law Courts, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 12th July, 1893. No. 383, 1892.—Petition of Pouwhabeta:pu Tuirirangi and Another. Petitioners allege that a piece of land called "Papanui," which was reserved by them when the sale of the Okarioi Block was effected, has been taken possession of by Europeans ; they pray for relief. I have the honour to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 14th July, 1893. No. 95.—Petition of Henare Kaihau. Petitioner prays for a refund of £25 paid by him as fees in connection with the passing of " The Kaihau Trust Money Act, 1892." No. 407, 1892.—Petition of Henaea Eoeba and 6 Others. Petitioners pray that payment may be made for land taken for road purposes through the Mahunoa Block No. 3a.
