I do myself the honor to request that you will be pleased to cause the sum of £1,250, due from the Province of Hawke's Bay on account of interest on the permanent debt of the original Province of Wellington, to be paid to the Provincial Treasurer hero with as little delay as possible. The amount required to pay the half-yearly dividends, duo in London on the Ist January next, will be remitted by me by the mail leaving hero on the 11th instant. I have, &c, I. E. I have the honour, by the direction of the Colonial Treasurer, to instruct you to pay to the Provincial Treasurer the sum of £1,250, being the amount due from the Province of Hawke's Bay on account of interest on the AVellington Provincial Debt, for the half-year ending 31st December, 1863. I have the honour, by direction of the Colonial Treasurer, to instruct you to pay to the SubTreasurer, Napier, the sum of £1,250 in repayment of a corresponding amount authorised to be paid to the Provincial Treasurer, AVellington, on account of interest due from the province of Hawke's Bay on the AVellington Provincial Debt, for the half-year ending 31st December, 1863. I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the Bth October, 1863, and in reply to inform your Honor, that instructions have been sent to the Sub-Treasurer, Wellington, to pay over the sum of £1,250 to the Provincial Treasurer; and to the Receiver of Land Revenue, Hawke's Bay, to refund the advance to the Sub-Treasurer, Napier.
