I have the honor to instruct you to pay to the Provincial Treasurer the sum of £1,250 being the amount due from the Province of Hawke's Bay on account of interest on the Wellington Provincial debt, for the half year ending 30th June, 1864. I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of 29th March, 1864, and in reply to inform your Honor that instructions have been sent to the Sub-Treasurer, AVellington, to pay over the sum of £1,250 to the Provincial Treasurer, and to the Receiver of Land Revenue, Hawke's Bay, to refund the advance to the Sub-Treasurer, Napier. His Honor the Superintendent of the Province of Wellington having applied for payment of the sum of £1,250 due from the Province of Hawke's Bay on account of Interest on the Permanent Debt of the original Province of Wellington, I have the honor to inform you that instructions have been sent to the Sub-Treasurer, Wellington, to pay over the amount to the Provincial Treasurer there, and to the Receiver of Land Revenue, Hawke's Bay, to refund the advance to the Sub-Treasurer, Napier. I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 6th instant, No. 77, intimating that instructions have been given to the Sub-Treasurer at AVellington to pay over the sum of £1,250 to the Provincial Treasurer on account of the Hawke's Bay Province, and to tender my thanks for the same. I do myself the honor to request that you will be pleased to cause the sum of £1,250, duo from the Province of Hawke's Bay on account of interest on the permanent debt of the original Province of AVellington, to bo paid to the Provincial Treasurer with as little delay as convenient. The amount required to pay the half-yearly dividends due on the 31st December and Ist of January next, will be transmitted by the Mail leaving here on the 9th proximo.
