LABOUR MANIFESTO REJECTION OF COMMUNISTS AUCKLAND COUNCIL DISAGREES NATIONAL OFFICERS CENSURED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Friday With four members of the executive dissenting, the Auckland Trades Council of the Federation of Labour rejected a joint statement issued by the Federation of Labour and the New Zealand Labour Party refusing to collaborate or associate with the Communist Party in New Zealand. The meeting reaffirmed its decision to continue to co-operate with all sections of the Labour movement to achieve maximum unity, “thus assuring that all support will be organised for the Soviet Union.” The council severely censured the members of the national executive of the Federation of Labour who signed the joint statement. The executive members referred to are the Federation president, Mr A. McLaglan, and the secretary, Mr F. Cornwell. There was a large attendance of delegates at the Auckland meeting.
