REPORT OF CONFERENCE

HAMILTON EAST AUXILIARY The St. John's Women’s Missionary Auxiliary held its monthly meeting in the church parlour on Tuesday, when there was a good attendance presided over by Mrs Gatman. The meeting opened with the hymn. “Workman of God,” which was sung at the recent Dominion conference held in Dunedin. Mrs Gatman then read from Isaiah, chapter 61, stressing verse 3. The roll-call was answered with a Christmas greeting. The quarterly report from the Dominion president was then read, in which special mention was made of two newly-formed Maori women’s Fellowship Groups in North Auckland, attended by approximately 150 members. The Dominion Methodist Auxiliary membership now stands at 4303, and during this year they have raised the sum of £233 by the sale of used stamps. Mrs Gatman gave her report of the conference. Two visitors from the St. Paul’s Auxiliary were welcomed. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Dann and Dey. Among those present were Mesdames Gatman, P. Gower, Storrey, Baker, Wood, Boyle, Watkins, sen., Dann, Lusby, King, McKinnon, O. Jones, E. J. Watkins, Young, Dey and Borman; Misses M. Hay and R. Clement.
