HAPPY EVENING
RUKUHIA FUNCTION A surprise party attended by residents of the Rukuhia district was given lecently in honour of Mr Arthur Lovett, a member of the Royal New Zealand Navy. During the evening a presentation of a fountain pen was made to the guest-of-honour by Mr C. V. Carryer on behalf of -all present. A delicious supper was served by the ladies and the happy evening was brought to a close by singing “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow.’’ Those present were:—Mesdames A. E. Lovett, H. Pyper, E. McAuliffe, C. V. Carryer, G. Grocock, S. Goodgear, F. Ma‘uschka, R. Matuschka, R. Bowler, H. Bowler.
