DANCE AT CAMBRIDGE Honouring Cambridge soldiers oi the sth Reinforcements, the Patriotic s Committee recently arranged a dance. _ when a large number of citizens was _ present at the Town Hall. a Following the procedure of previous j functions of a similar nature, memjbers of the Returned Soldiers’ As- _ sociation marched into the hall to j form a guard of honour for the guests of the evening, who entered amid _ enthusiastic applause, j The Mayor, Mr Edgar James, and j the president of the Returned Soli diers’ Association, Mr R. Newcombe, !on behalf of the townspeople and exti servicemen, conveyed good wishes to L the soldiers, after which the Mayoress (for the Patriotic Committee) ’ presented each man with a wallet. t j The guests-of-honour were: Messrs jB. The Executive The executive of the women’s Cambridge inter-zone patriotic committee were responsible for the arrangements, while many helpers rendered assistance. MORNING TEA PARTY For several Cambridge soldiers who j were unable to attend the dance in ! the Town Hall the Patriotic Commit- i j tee arranged an enjoyable function in the Council Chamber. The deputy-mayor, Mr A. H. Nicoll. . [extended the good wishes and admirlay on of the townspeople to the sol- ' diers and his sentiments were endorsed by the vice-president of the Returned Soldiers* Association. Mr J. W. Jeans.
