DANCE AT TE KAWA
A bright atmosphere prevailed in the Te Kawa Hall on Saturday evening when a delightful dance was organised by the Patriotic Society to farewell Private B. Beet and raise funds for soldiers’ parcels. The hall had been artistically decorated with , a canopy of yellow and gold stream- : ers and clusters of coloured balloons suspended above the dancers. Masses of greenery were arranged around the walls. Mr J. Wallis (chairman of the committee) introduced the guest-of-hon- . our, and, in presenting him with a . money belt and cheque, expressed the . good wishes of all present. Private Beet suitably replied. ; The large number of mystery parcels sold helped the funds considerably. Excellent dance music was . provided by Mrs E. Holmes’ Or- ’ chestra.
