HARD LABOUR TERM (By Telegraph.---rress Association) BLENHEIM, Thursday John Magee, aged 53, a cook, was sentenced to 27 months’ hard labour after being found guilty of indecently assaulting a girl aged 7. Mr Justice Kennedy described the case as a very bad one, pointing out that the prisoner had been guilty of a similar offence in Masterton some years ago. On a similar charge, against William Lawson, aged 61, a labourer, the jury disagreed and a new trial was ordered.
