FRIER—PORTER CHANTILLY LACE GOWN A charming wedding was solemnised on Saturday, October 5, at St. George’s Anglican Church, Frankton, between Valerie Florence, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. W. The bride, who was given away by ; her father, wore a lovely gown of : white Chantilly lace over French j satin, the bodice of which was de- j signed with a heart-shaped neckline | and puffed sleeves. The skirt, which was cut on slim-fitting lines with a bustle at the back, fell in soft folds tc form a scallop-edged train. Her tulle veil, which was trimmed with j lace, was worn over the face and fell from a coronet of orange blossom to form a second train. She carried a sheaf of arum lilies, lily-of-the-valley and asparagus fern. The Bridesmaids In attendance on the bride, as bridesmaids, were Miss Alice Larson and Miss Una Worker, and little Zelda Clarke, niece of the bride, was the flower-girl. The bridesmaids were in graceful frocks of Buckingham lilac lace and tulle over taffeta, the bodices being cut on fitting lines and trimmed with tiny buttons. I Large bows to form a bustle effect j finished the bouffant skirts. Toning topknots in deeper colourings were I worn on the hair, and they carried shower bouquets of lilac, pink carnations and maidenhair fern. Haines, R.A.F., was the groomsman. The bridal couple were piped from the church to the wedding reception. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Centreway Rooms, which were artistically decorated with lilac and pink Iceland poppies. The guests were received by the mother of the bride, who was in a navy and white ensemble and a navy hat. She wore a shoulder spray of dark red carnations. Mrs Craig, in the absence of the bridegroom’s mother, assisted Mrs Porter, and was wearing a navy tailored coat over a floral frock, a navy hat and a shoulder spray of crimson carnations.
