RAFFLE REQUEST GRANTED CA MB RIDG E. Th u rsday | The monthly meeting of the Cam* I bridge Borough Council was held i last night, when there were present | the Mayor, Mr Edgar James, and : Messrs M. Wells, W. Garrard, N. | Souter, K. Wilkinson and Waltei ! Moore. Also in attendance were Mr j F. T. Ray (town clerk), Mr W. McK. j Jeffrey (borough engineer), and Mi I F. Green (gasworks manager). ! A request from Mr H. Bishop and j others for a nose-tap on the Triangle | corner was granted. ! The St. John Ambulance wrote j asking for permission to hold a street ■ day on Friday, November 22. | There was also a request from the I Hamilton Golf Club asking for a ! permit to sell raffle tickets in Cami bridge in aid of the London Distress Fund. The tickets would be sold by members of the Cambridge Goli Club, and all funds so raised would be credited to the Cambridge queen in the Waikato queen carnival. Both requests were granted by the council. Mr K. L. Wilkinson was nominated as the Cambridge representative on the Waikato Air Port Board. 1 The Cambridge Cricket Association | was granted the use of Victoria : Permission was given to the Home | Guard to use some trees from thu ; gas works plantation, to provide i timber for bridge-building.
