WEDDING

BULL—JOHNSON BROCADED SATIN GOWN The marriage was solemnised on the afternoon of Saturday, October 12. in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, between Eileen May, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. L. Johnson, of Galileo Street, Ngaruawahia. and Cecil John, second son of Mr and Mrs J. Bull, of Claudelands, Hamilton. The Rev. H. G. Gilbert officiated, and the wedding music was played by Mr E. H. Apthorp. The church was beautifully arranged with pink and ivory azaleas and lilac. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a graceful gown of ivory brocaded satin. The corsage was fashioned with a heartshaped neckline, the long sleeves tapering to points over the hands. Tiny buttons extended down the back of the gown, and the skirt, which was gathered into a bustle effect, formed a train. Her veil of ivory tulle was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom, and fell to form a second train. She carried a sheaf of freezias, lily-of-the-valley and arum lilies. The Attendant In attendance as matron-of-hon-our was Mrs E. Brown, of Ngaruawahia. She wore a petunia shaded gown of rippled georgette fashioned in Grecian style and she carried a bouquet of toning ranunculi, stock and maidenhair fern. The best man was Mr J. Ennison. After the ceremony the reception was held in the Centreway Rooms, which had been charmingly arranged with pink and mauve rhododendrons and Iceland poppies. Mrs Johnson received her guests wearing a smart navy ensemble, and a spray of pink carnations and sweet peas. Mrs J. Bull, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a navy ensemble and a spray of carnations, and sweet peas. When Mr and Mrs C. J. Bull left by car for the honeymoon, the bride travelled wearing a smart costume of Air Force blue, a toning hat and fur stole.
