OPENING DAY

PUKETAHA TENNIS CLUB Among the tennis clubs which shared in the delightful weather for their opening day last Saturday was the Puketaha Club. The courts were in first-class condition, thanks to an energetic working bee. The president of the club, Mr C. E. Thomas, welcomed visitors from Piako Road and Gordonton, and wished all a happy day’s play. In the unavoidable absence of Mrs Thomas. Miss Joyce Thomas hit the first ball over. Afternoon tea was supplied by members. During the afternoon tea opportunity was taken to award the trophies of the Ping Pong Club to Mr R. Christiansen and Mr R. Eaton.
