TE AWAMUTU CLUB’S RESULTS FINALS OF COMPETITIONS (Special to Times.) TE AWAMUTU, Wednesday. The Te Awarnutu Golf Club’s championship was won by J. Sterrltf, who defeated K. S. Kelly, 9 and 8, over 36 holes. The golf was very good under the conditions as a high wind was blowing. In the junior championship J. Fletcher beat B. Quin, 2 and 1, and the Parker Plate contest resulted: Senior.—G. Gibbs beat E. Griffin, 5 and 4. Junior.—ll. Baker beat Gilberd, 2 up. The picnic day to have been held this Sunday has been postponed until October Recent handicap reductions are; r. Armstrong 16, 1 —12: E. Kirk, 22, 2 —lo. The Newton Cup (best six rounds played during season, resulted: K. S. Kelly, ■S3 points; D. Gee, 70: D. Hanisbottom, 07; R. Jones, 65.
