Some Combined Functions

Hamilton is the only area in which there will be more than one queen operating. It is expected, however, that the two town queens will restrict their efforts as far as possible to the urban and suburban areas, while the Country Queen will operate for the most part in the rural portions of the Hamilton zone. In many cases, however, there will be combined functions in Hamilton for the three queens. One such function is the Pageant of Empire to be staged on November 5, 6 and 7. At later dates it will be presented al Cambridge and Te Awamutu, and it will be available to all other queens if they so desire. It was stated today by the organisers of the Waikato carnival, Messrs C. G. Hunt and T. J. B. Mason, that ti emendous interest was being shown in all zones, and although the carnival was but in its infancy, they were well satisfied with the progress to date.
