TRAIN COLLISION
PASSENGERS SHAKENSOME COACHES DERAILED ACCIDENT NEAR TAURANGA. (By TeIPR-ranh.—«p p c!a! to T!m**o TAURANGA. Wednesday A ballast train collided with a stationary passenger train at Otumoetai, a siding two miles from Tauranga, today. Both trains were bound from Katikati to Tauranga. The ballast train forced a number of passenger coaches from the rails, the platforms and couplings being damaged in the impact. One passenger, Mr R. Rowe, was slightly injured, and others were severely shaken. Breakdown gangs were sent out ']° m 1 auranga. and the line was express from Tauranga was able to continue the delayed journey to Auckland.
