NO DANGER OF SHORTAGE EFFECT OF RATIONING ABLE TO FACE BLOCKADE I j limed Press I-lec, Tel. o.pvrlrtti LONDON. Oct. 16 Authoritative opinion in London is that Germany is a long way off a dangerous shortage of food/ Her power to withstand the blockade for a long time is being admitted. Experts in London state that Germany started with an advantage in 1 that she entered the war with the whole of a vast and complicated apparatus for rationing in operation and with the population accustomed to queues, inconvenience and grumbling. Summed up, what the experts believe is that Germany is in no danger of a food shortage and that the complete system of rationing in the Reich has been a great aid in conserving supplies and building up stocks. For the time being, while th« people grumble, they do not protest. In the long run, however, the situa- | tion may be different. An actual I -hortage of food cannot forever be « held at bay.
