BISHOP-ELECT HONOURED COMING TO NEW ZEALAND BIG CHURCH GATHERING (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. CopyrißTit) SYDNEY, Oct. 16 The Bishop-elect of Nelson, the Rev. P. W. Stevenson, prior to his departure for New Zealand, was given a farewell at the Chapter House, St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney. The gathering was a notable one and was representative of the Anglican Church and its organising activities, including foreign missions and the Bible Society, of which Mr Stevenson is Commonwealth secretary. Representatives of other Protestant churches and the Salvation Army were also present. Mrs Stevenson, who shared in the felicitations, was formerly a missionary in India. She is a fluent speaker, and has closely identified herself with the activities, pleasures and sports of young people.
