“WASTE OF TIME”

MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE HAMILTON MAYOR’S OPINION “I agree that the annual municipal conference is a waste of time, but there is always a possibility that something of importance to Hamilton may arise,” said the Mayor, Mr H. D. Caro, at a meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council last night. “Therefore, in the interests of the borough, we should have two delegates at the conference.” The Mayor’s remarks were in reply to Mr C. Lafferty, who asked if Mr Caro agreed with another mayor who said the conference was a waste of time. The discussion arose when notification that the Municipal Association’s annual conference would take place at Auckland from March 3 to March 6 was received.

The Mayor and the town clerk, Mr W. L. Waddel, were appointed as the Hamilton delegates.
