FIRST BIRTHDAY

WAIKATO PHILATELIC SOCIETY A very enjoyable social evening took place last night in the Centreway Tea Rooms when the Waikato Philatelic Society held its first birthday party. A large number of members and friends was present and the room tvas gay with vases of Iceland poppies. Dr. W. R. Fea, president of the society, welcomed all present and wished the society many more years of success. Those contributing to the enjoyable programme were as follows:—Pianoforte solos, Miss Joyce Coombes, L. and Mr E. Vipond; songs, Messrs Primrose, K. P. Eade, and V. H. Wing; violin solos, Mrs H. Biland; magic, Mr R. Harris. The accompanist was Mrs H. Hammond. During supper, the cake was cut by Mrs W. R. Fea, wife of the president, who was wearing a frock of figured crepe Glamis.
