FAREWELL DANCE

DIOCESAN SCHOOL PREFECTS The staff and pupils of the Diocesan School were the guests of the prefects at a farewell party at the school in honour of the head prefect. Miss Mary McKinnon, who is joining the nursing staff of the Waikato Hospital. The dining hall was charmingly decorated with pink cherry blossoms and oak leaves, a note cf gaiety being provided by streamers and balloons. The staff and the guest-of-honour, who was greeted by “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow,” were received by Miss Audrey Anderson and Miss Barbara Graham. Miss Satchell. the principal, and Miss Mary McKinnon received bouquets, after which dancing commenced. Features of the evening were an amusing celebrity game, won by Miss Dorothy Higg;:ison, and two novelty dances, the first of which was again won by Miss Hfgginscn qpd her partner Pamela Rishworth, and the second by Mary Weadon and Lorna Regan. Among those present were: Misses A. Satchell, mulberry taffeta; Z. Robins, blue and silver lace; A. Bowler. red. white and black checked taffeta; R. Haig, petunia taffeta; O. Higginson, midnight blue satin beaute; S. Guthrey, blue figured voile; E. Miller, white tulle; M. Holder, tartan taffeta; N. Alloway, white figured silk; H. Halliday, clover taffeta; Mary McKinnon, blue sprigged organdi.
