TAUWHARE FUNCTION

WRESTLING CLUB DANCE There was a good attendance at the final dance organised by the Tauwhare Wrestling Club, the proceeds of which are to be devoted to the local boys serving overseas. The hall was decorated with coloured streamers and vases of flowers. Music for the evening was supplied by Clayton’s orchestra, and an extra was played by Mr W. Dingle. Mr R. Richardson was master of ceremonies. A novelty dance was won by Mr H. Clarkin and Miss M. Hunter, and a competition was won by Mr R. Watson. Leamington. A feature of the evening was the presentation of trophies. A cup donated by Mr T. Coles, to be held for one year, for the best attendance during the season was presented to Mr Tucker (Matangi), by Mr R. Pardy, together with a miniature. Mr Pardy presented a cup donated by Mr N. Ferris, to Mr L. Kelly, as the most improved wrestler. Among those present were:—Mesdames li. Richardson, T. Coles, L. Andrew, P. Chilty, W. Robinson (Matangi), G. Shaw, L. Windsor (Te Rapa), Matuschka (Rukuhia), T. Fleming, K. Lovelock, Schernack (Eureka), Pinfold (Eureka)). Misses E. Milner, S. Lovelock, E. Saward (Eureka), M. Hunter (Eureka), J. Cranston, J. Hinton (Eureka), R. Reese (Hamilton), D. Reese (Hamilton), J. Ranstead, Weir (2) (Matangi).
