CONDITIONS AT DAKAR FORCED TO FIRE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 27 A statement from General de Gaulle’s headquarters says the operations at Dakar were never intended to become a naval and military action. General de Gaulle knew the great majority of the population was resolved to rally to him, but German infiltration frustrated their object, and , German pressure forced the authorities to fire on General de Gaulle’s forces.
