AMPUTATION OF LEG

FEDESTRIAN HIT BY VAN RESULT OF TAUPIRI ACCIDENT As a result of injuries he received when he was knocked down by a delivery van on the Great South Road near the Taupiri bridge on Thursday night, Mr Charles O’Connor, aged 47, labourer, of Eureka, had to have one leg amputated in the Waikato Hospital yesterday. Both legs were fractured in the accident and Mr O’Connor also received head injuries. At the time of the accident he was walking along the road near the bridge.
