HOMES FOUND
BRITISH CHILDREN 54 TO FOSTER-PARENTS SOUTHERN NORTH ISLAND (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Saturday All the 89 children who arrived in New Zealand to make temporary homes here for the duration of the war will have been dispersed to them by Monday. Of the 35 nominated by relations, 14 went to the South Island last night, some to make their homes in Christchurch, some to Timaru, some to Dunedin and one to Hokitika. The other nominated children have already joined relations in Wellington or are on the way to homes further north. The 54 who come to homes offered by foster-parents have been divided into four parties. Ten are going to Palmerston North, ten to Masterton, ten to Lower Hutt and 24 to Wellington. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, has cabled the news of their arrival to the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs and the High Commissioner in London, Mr W. J. Jordan, also to the provosts of Edinburgh and Glasgow.
