LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
VICE VERSA AFTERNOON The monthly meeting of the Hamilton branch of the League of Mothers was held recently, a large number of members being present. The meeting was in charge of the members, the officers and committee being th,eir guests for the afternoon. Mrs T. Pearson was in the chair and Mrs M. Wilkips was acting secretary. Mention was made of* the passing of Mrs Hodgkinson, members standing in silence. Mrs Pearson expressed the pleasure of the members at having this opportunity of showing their appreciation and presented bouquets to the president, secretary and treasurer. Shoulder sprays were also presented to the committee. An enjoyable programme had been arranged as follows: Recitations, Mrs Nicholls; bracket of numbers by the Singing Circle; songs, Mrs Fitzwilliam. Posies were presented to the elocutionist and singer, and also to Mrs C. Clark, who played the accompaniments. Mrs Street expressed. the thanks of the committee for a most enjoyable afternoon and then presented a posy to Mrs Lambert, who is leaving for Wellington. Afternoon tea and a social chat brought the meeting to a close.
