LYCEUM CLUB
HAPPY SOCIAL AFTERNOON The Lyceum Club yesterday held another of its popular social afternoons When the lounge, which was attractively arranged with bowls of arum lilies and beautiful mauve stock, was well filled with members, whose pleasant anticipations of a happy afternoon were amply fulfilled. An excellent programme had been arranged by Mrs T. G. Reynolds, convener of the entertainment committee, and the following items were thoroughly appreciated:—Pianoforte solo, Mrs H. J. McMullin; songs, Mrs Bradley; elocutionary items, Miss Shirley Burton; songs, Mrs G. Harvey; one-act play, Mrs J. McMaster and Mrs Clive Henry. The accompaniments were played by Mrs Spragg and Mrs Hubert Hammond. The serving of afternoon tea brought to a conclusion a very enjoyable function. The guests were received by the president, Mrs Hugh Douglas, who was wearing a navy and white ensemble and a navy hat. Those present were:— Mesdames W. J. King, T. A. Burtenshaw, L. J. Tompkins, A.
