CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE A very enjoyable bridge and five hundred evening was held recently in the Catholic Women’s League Room. Bowls of japonica and Iceland poppies formed the decorations and at the conclusion of play a dainty savoury supper was served. The contract bridge prize was annexed by Mrs Fisher, the auction bridge prize by Mrs Worth and Mrs M. Ryan was the highest scorer for five hundred. The conveners for the evening were Mrs P. J. Gallagher and Miss K. Devery, and among the players were the following ladies:—Mesdames Malone, Dwyer, Hynes, Ryan, Richardson, Davies, Jenkinson, Newland, Connell, Fisher, Tyson, Salway, Campbell-Board, Casey, W. Dwyer, J. O. Jones, Larsen, Shea, Craill (Gisborne), Dowd, W. Smith, L. Coombes, Greenslade, E. Kelly, Glennie, Parlane, Aitken, Svenson, Heinneman, Hill, Austin, Worth, Higgs. Watts, Duffy, Dunleavy, Phillips, Kelleher, Foley. Misses O. Spencer, N. Gavan, McLean, Woods, O’Meara, M. Cussen, K. Frost, N. Frost. R. Butler.
