COUNTRY CRICKET

MANiAPOTO ASSOCIATION (Special to Times.) TE KUITI, THURSDAY. It was reported at the annual meeting of the Maniapoto Cricket Association that none of the country clubs would he able to field teams this season owing to war conditions, but it was hoped tiie association could arrange a few games for them, in order to keep the clubs together. The balance-sheet showed the association had closed the season with a credit balance, together with considerable equipment. The association was the holder of the South Auckland Shield. The following officers were elec led:— Patron, Dr. L. R. de Castro; president. Mr K. M. Montgomery; secretary. Mr R. Seccombe; treasurer, Mr L. Cooke. It was decided to play on the new Centennial Park. The season opens next Saturday, the match being married versus single.
