BURGLARIES ADMITTED
MAORI FOR SENTENCE OFFENCES AT RANGIRIRI (Special to Times) HUNTLY, Thursday In the Huntly Police Court today before Messrs G. Smith and W. C. E. George, J’s. P., Dick Heta, a Maori, of Rangiriri, was charged with breaking and entering the dwellinghouse of Leslie Char Jes Sanders at Rangiriri, on August 1, and stealing a gold watch valued at £4; that on August 12 he entered the same dwelling and stole 5s in money and one pair of hair slippers valued at 12s 6d; and that he entered the same dwelling on September 4 and stole the sum of 3s in mon j, 30 cigarettes, valued at 3s, and eight benzine coupons, of a total value of 14s 6d. Constable D. Craigie said accused admitted breaking into the house on the dates mentioned and that each time he had obtained entry by means of a side window. On two occasions he had forced a catch. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court at Auckland for sentence.
