Hunt, presided at a subsequent meeting of the management committee. At the request of the New Zealand Council the committee discussed the playing of Hawke Cup matches this season and decided there was no reason why the competition should not be continued. It was decided to send an invitation to the Papakura camp cricket team, to visit Hamilton on Labour Day and play the Hamilton representatives. Various arguments for and against the introduction of one-day matches for the duration of the war were put forward, and the matter will be settled by the committee before the season commences.
